The Auckland police are inquiring into the death a.t New Lynn on Saturday evening of a young man believed to be S. E. M. Christie, aged 24. A Maori rang Constable Boag at New Lynn to say the young man had been the victim of an assault. The constable went to the house. He was told Christie was lying in bed when a Moari came into the room and subjected him to a wrestling hold about the head and allegedly punched him. Later Christie died. The police made an arrest.
