ECSTATIC’S NARROW WIN.
FAVOURITE IN LOCKWOOD. Ecstatic, who was a pronounced favourite, in the Lockwood Handicap, just got home by a head from Red Cat, who had been in the money in her race on the first day. The winner vas rather leniently treated in the handicap and was always going well. Red Cat, Deficit. Ecstatic and Rlonde Princess were the first to show lip, Blonde Princess taking charge at the half-mile to lead into the straight from Red Cat. Deficit, Ecstatic and Copy Cat. The first pair drew out in the run home to fight out the issue. Aurora's Star, who was eighth entering the straight., came with a strong run at the finish to be two lengths away third. Copy Cat was fourth, followed by Deficit, and Blonde Princess. both of whom disappointed. Next came Dorak, and Floral Rohe. Elllotto. who had made a forward move at the half-mile, went back again and finished last.
