N.S.W. BY-ELECTION.
VICTORY FOR MR C. EVATT. Received March 22, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, March 21. The allocation of preferences in the Hurstville by-election gave the barrister, Mr Clive Evatt, the Heffron Labour candidate, victory by 3542 votes over the United Australia party candidate, Dr Thomas.
