KEEN INTEREST.

WATCH IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY. Alareli 17. The search ior Gordon Robert AlcKay, supposed victim of the fire at Piha, Auckland, continues to excite public interest in Australia and to receive prominence in the Press. The Australian police are also making a search, but, because they belies o that AlcKay is not in this country, it has not been so intensive as tho search in New Zealand. Inquiries into McKay’s movements before lie left Sydney for Auckland are also being continued. No description has been circulated in New South Wales of AlcKay. The police say this would be a primary move if he was thought to have returned from New Zealand. They believe that eventually he will be found in New Zealand, but a keen watch is being kept on all vessels arriving from tho Dominion. Asked if he still thought his father was dead, in view of information from Now Zealand, the missing man’s son, John AlcKay, said : “We do not know what to think. We are as much in the dark as anyone else. I only hope that lie is still alive.” He added that the family had taken no further action in regard to his father’s insurance policies.
