ANNUAL MEETING HELD

The annual meeting of the Manawatu Table Tennis Association was held last night, Mr G. Marshall presiding over a good attendance of delegates, who were representative of tbe Terrace End, Sanson, Takaro, St. Patrick’s, and Milson clubs. Tbe financial statement showed a profit of £l6 15s 10d, and in the special account for tbe visit of Messrs V. Barna and Beliak, the touring players who visited this centre last year, a loss was shown. Tbe chairman said that there were only two clubs in New Zealand which had made a profit on this tour. The balance-sheet was adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows :—Patron, Mr H. Collinson ; president, Mr J. Rowlands; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs A. E. Hansford, G. Marshall, W. FI. Skinner, J. Hodgens, MP., D. M. Roche, N. Hansen, F. Stock well, and M. Millar; secretary, Mr L. Inkpen; treasurer, Mr C. Harvey ; recorder, Mr L. Sweetman ; management committee, Messrs R. Dnlziell. L. Sweetman, G. A. Williams, R. Dilks, 14. Buhner and B. Bambury.

After a lengthv discussion it was resolved that tho 'night for the playing of matches l>e Tuesday, and that n that night is not convenient clubs be allowed the rest of the week in which to play their matches. . , In regard to team competitions it was decided to follow tho same procedure as last year—four players in the A grade, six players in tlic B grade, and six players in the C grade. A resolution was passed that the competitions commence in May. In the A grade matches will he of 21 points, with tho advantage in the third set. which is on the same system as last year’s, which proved satisfactory.
