RECORDS BROKEN.

ATHLETICS AT DANNEVIRKE. DANNEVIRKE, March 18. _ Two New Zealand and ouo Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay Centre records were lowered on the Dannevirke Domain oval this afternoon when the Dannevirke Amateur Athletic Club held a most successful meeting. Great interest was added to the meeting by the appearance of llawke’s Bay and Manawatu athletes, including Miss R. Tong, Miss G. fcSynies, J. Bickerstalf, and F. Sharpley. In an attempt on the 80 metres hurdles record Miss 'long loweiod the New Zealund record to 12 3-ssec. F. Sharpley lowered his own New Zealand record tor the 220yds hurdles by tv.o-lifths of a second. Application will Lie made to have these records recognised. J. Bickerstalf, in a special attempt, lowered the llawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay Centre record lor the 440 yards hurdles by one second.
