WILLARD HOME.
NEW APPOINTAIENTS. Airs E. A. Collins presided at the monthly meeting of the AYillard Children’s Home Board, in St. Andrew's Sunday schoolroom, yesterday afternoon. Also present were Mesdamrs E. A. Shaw. D. J. Lovelock. R. Port. D. W.a.tson. J. B. Sankey, A. C. Evans, AT. R.atcliffe, E. C. Barnett. F. J. Nathan, C. Greig, C. F. Spooner E. B. Jennings (secretary) and Aliss AT. Cranston. Apologies for alxsence were received from Afesdnmcs G. Houston, J. A. AfcJ/eavev and K. AlcDonald. Afisses C. AT. Hunter and J. T>. Dynes, matron and sub-matron of the Dunedin Children’s Rest Home, were appointed matron And sulvmntron respcclivelv of th? A\ illard Home. Tt was decided to approach the City Council with regard to a recent Sunday concert advertised ns being in aid of the AYillard Home without the authoritv of the board, as inquiries made bv the secretary to the promoters had been without result. The matron reported that the health of the children had been very good during the month. They had all attended" their Sunrlnv school picnics, also at the invitation of the manager of the Regent Theatre they had been able to sec the film “Robin Hood.” Afrs Collins and Airs Jennings had visited the home officially.
ADs Collins reported on lmr visit to the home and suggested that the material for two new table covers he purchased, the matron having offered io make them up. This was authorised. Several members agreed to go up to the home to carry out repays to the quilts. Accounts totalling £2O 15s 5d wore passed for pavment. A farewell afternoon for the retiring matron and sub-ma Don was arranged to take place at the home.
Tf noplcs which von have stored awav have become slightlv withered. just soak them for a few hours in cold water. They will oeel then quite as easily as fresh apples.
