Mr Reginald D. L. Irwin, ol Levin, has been appointed secondary assistant at the Woodville District High School and will take up duty on April 3. Mr A. Fuller, of Palmerston North, son of a former foreman to the AYoodville Borough Council, has be appointed borough nightwatchman. Mrs T. Spellman, of Woodville, and Miss Al. Hennghnn, Feilding, have returned home after a visit to New South Wales and Victoria.
A passenger for Sydney, leaving AAellington next Tuesday will l>e Mrs A. E. Dickins, of Papatawa. Her destination is to be the Newcastle district (New South AA'ales), where she will be the guest of her sisters for a couple of months. Mrs Dickins has long been noted for her energy in her association with various organisations. Her home was visited on Saturday night by members of the Papatawa AA omen s institute. a.nd the president of that body (Afrs L. E. Gleadow) presented Airs Dickins with a leather travelling c,)se. whilst Airs Sandbrook handed Airs Diekins a bouquet. The speakers expressed the high esteem in which the recipient is held and voiced the hope that she would have a very pleasant holiday. Mrs Dickins, who had been taken b? surprise, feelingly returned thanks to the institute. Competitions were won by Airs Dickins a.nd Mr J. Dickins.
