HOSPITAL PLANNING.
MOVE FOR STANDARDISATION. “It will lx; recollected.” reported the chairman (Mr J. A. Nash) to the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, yesterday, when dealing with the recent conference of the Hospital Boards’ Association, “that this board sent forward a remit recommending the Government to appoint an expert committee to co-operate with the department with a view to improving hospital planning and with a view to a greater measure of standardisation of hospital planning. This remit was discussed at very considerable length by the conference and, after many points of view had been put forward, it was decided that the Government be asked to appoint expert officers to be associated with the officers of the Health Department with a view to giving effect to the objects outlined in our remit. This matter will, of course, be pursued further by the executive of the association and it is hoped that' considerable improvements may result from our .action in this matter.”
