FEILDING GOLF CLUB.
REVIEW OF YEAR. The annual report of the Feilding Golf dub, to he presented by the president (Mr. S. A. Govcr) at the annual meeting, states, inter alia:—“The com- | niittee has pleasure in recording another year of considerable progress. The neiv 14th and 15th holes were opened | during the season and the first, sixth and 16th greens have been remodelled. For the second time a tournament was held during the King’s Birthday weekend, and as the event proved popular with both members and visitors, the committee has decided to make it an annual one. The income and expenditure account shows a substantial improvement, a profit of £l3 16s Id being shown instead of a loss of £43 9s lid. The club championships resulted: —Men: Senior, P. H. Sinclair; intermediate, T. L. Donaldson; junior, G. Finlay; Brown Cup, J. Connell. Ladies, Senior, not completed; junior, Mrs Donaldson; Brown Cup, Mrs W. H. Smith. The membership at the close of the season was 220, as against 199 in 1937, The committee places on record its sincere appreciation of the splendid co-operation received from the ladies’ committee in the provision of afternoon teas and in taking charge of
the luncheon arangements on the occasion of visits from neighbouring clubs. Under the rules, Messrs Carthew and Moflitt retire from the eommittc, hut are eligible for re-election. These vacancies, together with that caused by the resignation of Mr Fair and other oilieiu.l positions will require to be filled at the annual meeting. Air A. H. Maguire, idle club’s auditor, is also eligible for re-election.”
