THE PLUNKET SYSTEM.
INTEREST OVERSEAS.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 20.
Dr. Martin Tweed, formerly medical advisor to the Plunket Society, returned to-day from an eight months’ tour abroad. He stressed the importance of prevention rather than cure of disease, and said the only way to prevent it was by a periodical examination of all people. He found there was great interest in the work of the late Sir Truby King, and he also found out how right he had been and that wlmt Sir Truhv King had said had been absolutely sound.
Dr. Tweed did not agree with the way people to-day rushed off to try new diets and fads. He said that if the national health insurance scheme meant the maintenance of health if would be a great step forward.
