PACIFIC SETTLEMENTS.
PARTICIPATION BY BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless). RUGBY, Feb. 16. In the absence of a denunciation, the next period of five years for which the General Act for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes runs will begin on August 16. In a letter to the secretary of the League of Nations, Britain intimated that she will continue after that date to participate in the General Act subject to reservation that as from that date the participation of Britain will not apply should she unfortunately find herself involved in hostilities over disputes arising out of events occurring during a war. This reservation applies also to the procedure of conciliation.
A Geneva message states that France, New Zealand and Tndia have advised the League similarly.
