MUNIFICENT GIFT
BEQUEST TO COLLEGE.
LATE MR W. REED. Under the will of the late Mr William Heed, of 233 Broadway, Palmerston North, probate of which was recently granted by the Supreme Court, there is bequeathed to the Council of Massey Collegt the sum of £ISOO to provide an annual scholarship to be competed for by boys who are pupils of the Palmerston North Boys’ High School, the scholarships to be designated 1 ‘The William Reed Scholarships.”
The late Mr Reed was noted for the charitable bequests he made during his lifetime, including one of £2OOO to the All Saints’ Children’s Home, and the above request further emphasises his philanthropic character. Mr Reed was one of the most public-spirited and respected citizens of this city.
