(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Feb. 15. Another eel. 281 b in weight, has been caught in the Waitohu River. A meeting of the committee of the new-ly-formed Surf Club met last night, when progress was reported. Mr 11. J. Henderson, Clerk of the Court, has returned from the Wairarapa. Mr D Richards leaves for Hamilton at the week-end. Messrs N. Winiata and W. Seymour have left on a trip to Rotorua. Rev. and Mrs Jackson have left to take up residence in Christchurch. Mr J. Davidson left to-day to take up residence at Wellington. Mrs Arnold Taylor is confined to her bed through illness. Members of tile Wellington Education Board yesterday visited Otaki, advocating swimming baths. They were met by members of the Borough Council and School Cpmmittee. who held out little hope for the project, as it was expected that some £I3OO wuold have to be found. It was stated that the present sheds had not been improved for forty years; they held 22 cyoles, whereas accommodation was needed for nearly 100. —These matters were promised attention.
