NGAWAPUKUA INSTITUTE.
The February meeting of the Ngawnpurua Women’s institute was held on Wednesday. -Airs Coulter presided and welcomed many visitors. Mrs Role read the motto (".She who plants kindness gathers love’'). The institute received a cheque from the Woodville A. and P. Show for second prizes in the karts and crafts and pantry displays. Another institute baby was presenter! with a Post. Office bank book. Mrs MacKay is shortly to give a soap demonstration at her residence. Nominations for the president and committee are to l>c handed in to the secretary a fortnight before the next meeting. Mrs Anderson (Dannevirke) gave a very interesting demonstration on wool mops and. mats made from a motor tyre. Mrs Saunders entertained with a flower competition, the winner being Mrs Anderson. The competition for a jar of flowers was won by Mrs Waugh. It was arranged to ask Mrs Burnett to judge the programmes competition. The results of the Canadian date ca’se competition (with given recipe) weri: Miss J. Alpin 1, Mrs Coulter 2, Miss M. Knapp 3; dahlia bloom, Miss M. Kna-pp 1. Miss C. Knapp 2, Mrs T. Smith 3. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Anderson and her assistant. The hostesses were Mesdames B. Clark. Bassett and Misses I. Bassett, B. Clark. L. Aplin.
