The German. Foreign Office has protested to M. Bonnet (French Foreign Minister) against the arrest .last, week of German newspaper correspondents in Paris, states a cablegram. The first race for the world 18-footer sailing championship was .. held on Waitemata Harbour yesterday and resulted in a sensational win for the M class boat Manu (Richmond Cruising Club), which beat the V class boat Jeanette (Ponsonby Cruising Club) by the narrow margin of seven seconds.— Press Association.
