News has been received in Auckland by Miss A. L. Gronfell-Spenecr, a cousin of Sir Wiltred Greniell, ot the death of the famous Labrador missionary’s wife, which occurred at Brookline, Boston, after a long illness. Sir Wilfred Grenfell is noted all over the world for his medical missionary work in Labrador, and alter his marriage in 1909 he was assisted in all branches of his work by his wife, who was an American. Lady Grenfell spent most of her married life working with her husband in the mission at St. Anthony, Newfoundland, and her three children were born there. She organised and developed the child welfare department of the mission work and also founded the educational fund, which provided the means for promising
