MARTON, Jan. 25. Seven courts were occupied during 'the playing of the Marton Lawn Ten--1 nis Club’s Anniversary Day combined Yankee tournament, when the event was favoured with perfect weather. The winning pair were members of the Hunterville Club. A. Kay and Miss D. I Graham (scr), who beat L. Barry and Mrs Gray (scr), St. Francis Club, in the final" 6—4. Section winners were: ’ A section, Kay and Miss Graham, six 'wins; B. Beadle and Miss Clarke ■ ( —3O) five wins; C. N. Ingle and Mrs W.vsoeki ( —3O), five wins; D. Barry and Mrs Gray, six wins, i Widespread regret will be felt by i the many friends of Air Peter Miller, of Upper Tutaenui, at his death, which occurred suddenly yesterday morning.
