INFLUENCE OF SCARE.
APIA, Jan. 12.
During the recent war scare, when the serious tension in Europe extended to Samoa, there wore some heavy withdrawals bv depositors in the local Government Savings Bank. The Acting-Administrator (Air Turnhull). however. issued a statement to the effect that no danger was apprehended and this had the effect of restoring confidence.
