FINGER SHIELDS.

If a celluloid finger-shield is found to be rather too stiff to Wear or if its rigidity interferes with fine work, a more flexible shield may easily be made from cellulose wrapping. The wrapping should be used double and folded round the finger like a bandage. The overlapping ends should then be stitched or gummed together. A close-fitting finger cut from an old suede or washleather glove also makes a comfortable shield from needle pricks, and it may be secured to the wrist by tape, like a finger-stall, if necessary. If an occasional stitch catches lightly in the soft surface of the suede it may be pulled away easily without unthreading the needle or dragging tho work.
