Interesting legislation has boon passed recently in Norway, which allows for the appointment of women to all Government offices on an equal footing with men. It provides also for women’s admission to all positions in the State Church, which has long been the goal of the women’s movement in Norway. However, an amendment which was lost in the Lower Chamber of Parliament, but adopted in the Upper Chamber, restricts the appointment of women pastors in parishes which raise objections to this innovation.
