A DUNEDIN CASE

DUNEDIN, Jan. 23
The piercing of a hole through the wall of a wharf building on January 14 and the theft of a quantity of tongue and sugar led to the appearance on remand of William Albert Harris and Alfred .Tames Rodgers, who were charged with breaking and entering “E” shed at the Kitchener Street Wharf and stealing the goods, valued at £7 11s, the property of tho Union Steam Ship Company. Both accused pleaded guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
Arising out of the thefts by Harris and Rodgers, David Edward Griffiths, Hugh Kennedy Miller, and Thomas I Cnllinan were charged with receiving property. They pleaded not Vfnilty. The charge against Miller was dismissed. Griffiths and Cnllinan were found guilty and were each fined £5.
