JUNIOR A. United defeated Palmerston in the junior A division by seven wickets. Palmerston had 148 on the board on the previous Saturday, being three runs behind United. They scored 196 for six wickets (declared) in their second innings (Carson 71 not out, H. Ormond 57; Francis 3 for 43), and United replied with 197 for three wickets (Blenkinsopp 78 not out, F. Kia Toa commenced their second strike, but had lost three wickets for 23 runs when play closed for the day. JUNIOR B. United defeated Kia Toa in the junior B section bv 40 runs. Kia Toa making 87 (Robb'3 for 13, Bailey 2 for 13) and United replied with 127 (Wilde 33, McQueen 24, Free 20. Pickett 20. Holden 15; Sheerin 6 for 42, Fitch 4 for 77). City defeated Old Bovs oil the first innings bv 53 runs. City made 192 (Gough 50, Cross 31; Bennett 4 for 53, Walsliaw 3 for 69, Ford 1 for 6). Fielding only eight men, Old Boys made 139 (E. Grant 34. Harkness 2 1 , Simpson 43; Weston 6 for 36).
