JUNIOR A. United defeated Palmerston in the junior A division by seven wickets. Palmerston had 148 on the board on the previous Saturday, being three runs behind United. They scored 196 for six wickets (declared) in their second innings (Carson 71 not out, H. Ormond 57; Francis 3 for 43), and United replied with 197 for three wickets (Blenkinsopp 78 not out, F. AVright 68). _ High School beat Public Services by 26 runs. On the opening day School scored 261, and at stumps Services had put on 92 for four wickets. They continued on Saturday to make 144 (Bowie 33, Axbey 22; McSweeney 3 for 16). High School made 135 in their second innings (Anderson 43. Seator 27, NPrthover 24 ; Beard 3 for 22, Barrett 2 for 4). Services replied with 226 (Beard 103. Bowler 32, Bowie 25, Dingwall 22). AVhen the match between Citv and Kia. Toa, in the first division of the junior A grade series was continued at Terrace End Park, the former secured an eight-point win. The position at the close of play on the first day was that Kia Toa bad batted first for 75 runs, to which City had replied with a score of 279. Kia Toa commenced their second strike, but had lost three wickets for 23 runs when play closed for the day. AVhen the game was resumed on Saturday afternoon Kia Toa, who were playing two men short, were dismissed for only three more runs (Burgess 3 for 17. Diiks 4 for 7).

Continuing their innings from the first day. when they had lest, two wickets for 51 runs when plav terminated. Cook’s put. on 160 (Afarsden 25, Berryman 27. Oliver 24. Pedersen 10; Nan sett 3 for 19. AVahlegrave 2 for 13. Hooper 5 for 36) in reply to Old Boys’ total of 326. Cook’s followed on and, when time was called on Saturday afternoon, had five wickets down ior 108 (L. Hart 70, Afarsden 12. Berryman 10). Tho result was a victory on the first innings for Old Boys.

In a. match of the second division played on the Hokowhitu Domain, Optimists beat A .AI.C.A. by an innings and 42 runs. On the initial day Optimists had first use of the wicket to compile 154 runs for the loss of nine wickets, this total taking the whole of the afternoon to compile. On Saturday, WM.C.A. batted for 24 (Zaloum 5 foils. O’Connell 3 for 5)._ 111 tbeir second strike thov secured 7S (Hicken 15, Rees 15. Algie 13. Bettle 13; Zaloum 5 for 26, AlcNabb 5 for 43).

JUNIOR B. United defeated Kia Toa in the junior B section bv 40 runs. Kia Toa making 87 (Robb'3 for 13, Bailey 2 for 13) and United replied with 127 (Wilde 33, McQueen 24, Free 20. Pickett 20. Holden 15; Sheerin 6 for 42, Fitch 4 for 77). City defeated Old Bovs oil the first innings bv 53 runs. City made 192 (Gough 50, Cross 31; Bennett 4 for 53, Walsliaw 3 for 69, Ford 1 for 6). Fielding only eight men, Old Boys made 139 (E. Grant 34. Harkness 2 1 , Simpson 43; Weston 6 for 36).
