RETAINED BY HOLDERS. Bv 22 points to 10 (with one head not * required), NVoodville retained the Dixon Clip on Saturday in a match witli Foxton. Scoring began | slowlv liv the AVoodville team, and at the tea adjournment the challengers had a lead of :5. The holders, however, gradually gained the ascendancy, tile game ending-as above-mentioned. On j the 14th head some time was spent in measuring, the attention of the whole of the two teams being absorbed in the decision. A tie was the result, and the head declared a draw. AVoodville were again represented by C. Forbes. .T. J. Young, C. Smith, and 11. P. Horne, and the challengers were R. Roore. J. Grant, Roore Rangiheuea, and AY- Trueman (skip). There wore the customary speeches hv the, respective skips at the conclusion of 1
the match and the exchange of cheers.
