SCOUT JAMBOREE.
SECOND PARTY RETURNS. COMMISSIONER’S SATISFACTION. Per Press Association. AYELLINGTON, Jail. 23. The Chief Commissioner of Boy Scouts (Mr Christie) returned to-day with 311 Scouts and 28 lady cubmasters in the charge of Mr T. Mclvor, Metropolitan Commissioner, Christchurch. He said the New Zealand hoys had created a favourable impression and had acquitted themselves splendidly.
Mr Christie praised the work of the two doctors, especially in detecting the incipient outbreak of measles on the way over. Their services Had been most valuable, and when they had arrived in camp, instead of. resting and making excursions they had joined the medical staff and had worked throughout as camp doctors. Captain A. H. Davey, of the Awaten, had been made the recipient of a Scout Thanks Badge. Mr Christie trusts that parents will fool the sacrifices they have made to give the boys the trip have been worthwhile.
