GRASS FIRES
FOXTON-SANSON LINE. A grass fire which theatened to assume serious proportions broke out on the Foxton-Sanson train-line at the Taikorea Siding about noon to-day. There were two separate fires a few chains apart, but they were got under control after several acres of grass had been burnt and fences damaged. The country at. this spot is very dry and it was fortunate that the fire was subdued before more damage was done.
