BUYER OF TALENT
A HIGH TRIBUTE. “One of 1 bo Lest- buyers of talent that ever represented Australia abroad!” Such is the tribute paid to Mr Harry I*. Muller, the genial manager of Bendigo (Victoria) Plaza. Theatre, by Mr Jack Mnsgrove, general manager of Sydney Trocadero, in (he special Christmas issue of the Film Weekly. Mr Mnsgrove was, in turn, general manager of Harry Musgrove Tivoli Theatres, Ltd., and the vaudeville side of Willia.mson-Tait Ltd. When the Musgrove interests were absorbed by Williamson-Tait Ltd., Mr Muller was deputed by the latter to represent them in San Francisco. In
reference to Mr Mullers engagement of vaudeville artists for Australia, Mr Musgrove adds: “He has had less failures than any other man ever entrusted with such ticklish work. I do not think he ever picked a dud.” In this issue of the Film Weekly Mr Muller’s four-page story of the Australian stage is of absorbing interest. It shows him to he an excellent raconteur, with a rich fund of humour. These reminiscences were given to the Bendigo Legacy Club some time a.go. Mr Muller is a native of Palmerston North.
