SALVATION ARMY.
Members of the Salvation Army last evening formally welcomed the newlyappointed officers, Captain and Mrs L. Jones, late of Mosgiel, when they were given a warm reception in the' Army Hall. The speakers were Messrs E>. Keay (bandmaster), H. Hammond, eenr.. .and J. Jackson (treasurer), Mrs A. E. Richards (Home League secretary). Miss C. Lagor (corps secretary) and the chairman (Mr A. E. Richards, the corps sergeant-major). Captain and Mrs Jones replied, stating that they were much impressed with the welcome extended to them and felt sure that everything would be done to assist them in their work. Captain Jones exhorted the members to be constant in their prayers for the spiritual success of the corps. He incidentally mentioned that he was not altogether a stranger to the territory, as he had originally resided in Palmerston North, where he was closely identified with a number of organisations, and'lie had relatives who resided in that district. Mrs Jones and himself already felt at home in Woodville. He conveyed greetings from some former officersof the local corps. ( The meeting was well attended. Mrs 8. Gold sack (primary leader) presided at the organ.
