MANAWATU BATTING. MURCHISON GOING WELL. Per Press Association. NELSON, Jan. 21. In the Hawke Cup elimination match, Manawatu versus Nelson, the visitors are batting. Manawatu made a good start in ideal weather and on a perfect wicket. Murchison gave a fine display, being 65 not out. Rapid scoring saw 155 runs put on in 120 minutes. Me Vicar was missed when his score was 10. He gave a solid exhibition for 56. Details MANAWATU. First Innings. The elimination Hawke Cup match between Wairarapa and Wanganui was continued to-day in fine weather. At lunch Wairarapa, in their second innings, had scored 154 for five wickets (Clarke 58 not out).
