TREATY VOID
ITALO-FRENCH CLAUSES.
NEW PROPOSALS MADE. MOVE FROM ROME. • (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received December 23, 8.5 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 22. . The Daily Telegraph’s Paris correspondent says that it is understood that Italy has informed France that the Franco-1 talian 1935 Agreement determining the Franco-I talian frontier in Eritrea and Libya and the status of Italian nationals in Tunis must be regarded as void since it was never ratified. ,/
It is believed that Italy suggested that France now submit fresh proposals complying with the London treaty of 1915, which brought Italy into the War and under which Britain and France agreed, if increased colonial territory in Africa was gained at Germany’s expense, Italy might claim compensation in Eritrea, Somaliland and Libya.
