YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB. (From Our Own Corrosoondcnt.) , APITI, Dec. 22. A small attendance marked the monthly meeting of the Young Farmers’ Club, on Monday evening. Mr C. Eliot was in the chair.' The report of the committee anpo.nted to look into' the possibility of holding a young farmers’ show locally was received. After much discussion it was decided to carry out the recommendations of the committee, that a show should he hold on the Domain ground in lebruary. A committee was elected as follows: Messrs C. Spence, C. Eliot. J. R. Osborne, A. W. Bensoman, Alan Viles, F. Viles, Hugh Cowan, R- McKay, E. Osborne, H. Mclntyre, V. Wildbpco, T. Nix, junior., and J. D. Kilgour (president of the local branch Farmers’ Union, invited to coalso advisory members to the Young Farmers’ club. Messrs A. W. Viles, C. Mclntyre and 11. 11. Jensen. Each member or visitor present, was asked to give a short talk on any subject of interest. Hicso who responded were Messrs A. W. Bensoman, Hugh Cowan, C. Eliot, 11. 11. Jensen, C. McKay, - H. Mclntyre, E Osborne, T. Nix, junior., C. Spence. F. Vi’.es, and V. Wildbore. It was decided to hold the nckt meeting .along the same lines. PERSONAL. : Mrs J. L. Ilodson. accompanied by her two daughters, has left to spend Christmas in Southland. They will also attend the Presbyterian Bible Class Conference to be held in Gore. Mr R. Thompson, of Gisborne, will spend Christmas as tlio guest of Mr and Mrs S. F. Morris-at, the sehoolhouse. Mr and Mrs Blake, of Masterton, are visiting- Mr and Mrs F. Mtinro for Christmas. Mrs M. _E. A. Martin and her son, Mr R. Martin, leave on Sunday by car to spend a- brief holiday in Auckland.' In recognition, of their kindness in lending a room in their home lor the use of tiic Plunkct Nurse and visiting mothein each month, Mrs Hooper and her daughter were entertained to afternoon tea to-day. Oil behalf of the mothers, small gifts with good wishes for Christmas wore presented 10 them by Mrs Munro, the sub-branch president.
