GIRL GUIDES.
| Miss Ruth Herrick, Dominion Com- . missioner of Girl Guides, was present at a parade of If angers, Guides, and Brownies, under the direction of Miss I/. Davis, district captain, in All Saints’ Hall, last evening. The Guides formed a guard of honour as Miss Herrick entered the hall, accompanied by Mrs Ivan Wilson, actin g-Di strict Commissioner. Inspection was followed by the Brownie welcome, after which Miss Herrick told the Brownies a story. The Guides, drawn up in double-horseshoe formation, then gave their welcome. Miss Agnes Roulston was enrolled as a Guide by Miss Herrick, who also presented first-class badges to Miss M. Whyte and Miss A. Grey. A balloon game was enjoyed before the Brownies left, and the Chief Commissioner then gave a short talk to the Guides on the necessity of acquiring knowledge as they moved about and the dignity of the Guide uniform. Beforo the singing of “Taps” Miss Lorna Davis returned thanks to the Chief Commissioner on behalf of the Guides. Miss Herrick also met the Guiders and discussed company management.
