HAVEN FOR FISHERMEN. —This fishing fleet is sheltering in a hay at Lofoten, an island separated from the mainland by the Vest Fiord. Lofoten is situated in one of the richest fishing areas in the world. So popular is this part with fishermen, that as many as ten thousand will congregate in these waters during the season. Along this section of the coast occurs the dreaded Maelstrom, about which Jules Verne and Edgar Allan Poe wrote.
