PALMERSTON NORTH SALE.

Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their monthly auction sale of wool, sheep- i skins, hides and tallow, hold on August 25, as follows:—A large catalogue was offered to a full bench of' buyers, when competition was.; keen for suitable lots. In the main values were easier than at our sale of last month. Wool',: Values generally wore id lower. Sheepskins: There was an easing in values of per lb. Hides: Cow hides were on a par to id easier, while ox hides were down id. Calfskins were easier id to id per lb. Tallow: The market was easier 20s per ton. The following is the range of values:—■ Wool.—Crossbrcds, 7d. to 7^d: hoggets, 7id to 7§d; dead, 6d to 7d: crutchings, 53d to 6£d; locks and pieces. 3id to 4-id. Sheepskins:—Fine Ist, 8d to B£d; fine hoggets, 7?d to , 8d: hoggets. 7d to 7Jd; three-quarter to full wools, 8d to 8 2 dI; quarter to half wools, 7d to Bid; crossbred, damaged. s£d to 7d: lambs, 6d to 7d; pelts, 3d to 3id: dead, 6id "to 6Jd. Hides.—Ox, heavy, sfd, to 6|d: light, 4id to sßd;5 B d; cow, lieavv, 4id to 4 8 d; mod-, ium 4-id to 4 8 d; light, 4id to 4£d; yearlings, 7d to Bid: calf, light, Ist, 9 a d to 93d; light,' 2nd.
