TORONTO EXHIBITION
RECIPROCAL GREETINGS
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug: 26. While Lord Stanley (British Secretary of State for the Dominions) was speaking at the opening ,of the Canadian National Exhibition, at Toronto, at midday to-day, a message to all parts of the Empire represented at the exhibition was flashed round the world as follows: “On the eve of the opening of the 60th Canadian National Exhibition, I wish to convey my cordial greetings to the Governments represented at the exhibition, and through them to the peoples whos* energy- and industry are so worthily demonstrated by the products exhibited here. I am honoured by the privilege of opening the buildings in which these products are displayed.—(signed) Stanley. The reply sent by Mr (Savage was as follows: '“New Zealand reciprocates vour greetings, and wishes to congratulate the Canadian National Exhibition authorities on their diamond jubilee. This exhibition promotes closer co-operation between the units ot the Empire.—(signed) Savage.
