MAKINO.
(From Our Own Correspondent). MAKINO. Aug. 26. Owing to the many counter-attractions the fortnightly euchre was not as well attended as usual. The winners were Miss N. Waugh and Mr C. Vincent; the consolation prizes were won by Mss V. Laing and Mr T. Thurston. A dance was held, the music being supplied by Mr Roberts. The prizes for cards were donated by Mrs Hills and Mil W. P. Bickers. Mrs J. W. Nairn, “Whararata,” left to-day on an ext ended holiday in Wellington. Mrs Tonks and Mr R. Tonks have returned to Wellington after staying with Mrs R. Humphrey. Miss Noelene Laing has returned after a holiday spent with Mrs Douglas, Porangahau. Miss F. Marshall has returned home after an ~ extended holiday.
