WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS
Competing at the Wellington Competitions Society’s festival, yesterday, Coila Barrowman, of Palmerston North, won the hornpipe under 12 years, for which there were 34 entries. Nancye Conway, of Longburn, was commended. Coila Barrowman was highly commended in the skipping dance (10 ( to 12 years). She had previously been placed first for jig under 12 (42 entries) and Irish jig under 12 (34 entries. Betty Olsen (Palmerston North) was highly commended in the song in character (9 to 12 years).
