FRENCH SITUATION.
PARIS, Aug. 25. ’The national committee of tho Popular Front has passed a resolution expressing a unanimous determination to maintain the Popular Front against Fascism and to uphold the inviolability of the social legislation while satisfying all needs of national defence. The interpretation oT the resolution is that it not only 'leaves the door open for compromise, but implies that a solution can he found reconciling Socialist susceptibilities and ihe defence programme.
