FOR FRENCH WORKMEN. PREMIER’S STATEMENT STANDS. RESOLUTION OF CONFIDENCE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 27, 9.25 a.m. PARIS, Aug. 26. Tlie Premier' (M. Daladier) fold the Radical Socialist Conference to-day that he had nothing to add or withdraw from his broadcast speech of last Sunday. England, Sweden and Belgium, added the Premier, worked a 48-hour week. In most industries it was essential in the interests of defence. Firms requiring extra hours had them without prohibitive over-time. The meeting passed a resolution of confidence in the Premier. M. Daladier, in his 6pccch, promised measures to increase the national revenue and balance the Budget without deflation, and to revise the 40-hour tvcck to ensure its more flexible use in the war industries. He ako promised to lighten the tax burden on industry and secure price stability and leave the long-term loan market relatively free in order to enable capital to become available to private industry.
