EMPIRE RELATIONS
CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA. FIRST DELEGATES ARRIVE. OFFICIAL OPENING IN SYDNEY. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 27, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 26. Delegates from all parts of the Empire are gathering in Sydney for the British Commonwealth Relations Conference. They include Hon. W. Downie Stewart and Dr. J. R. Elder, of Otago. The delegates will be entertained on Monday by the acting-Governor-General (Lord Huntingfield). Additional delegates will arrive next Friday from New Zealand. The official opening of the conference will be held to-morrow week lit Sydney University, and the venue of the conference will then be the foothills of. the Blue Mountains. The proceedings, which are unofficial, will be held in camera.
