FOUR KILLED.
CONVICT LATER ARRESTED
SAN JOSE (Costa Rica), Aug. 24.
Two prominent surgeons, Drs. Canas and Handi, a merchant, Egerico Vargas, and a Canadian miner, Harry Maynard, were shot dead yesterday. Beltran Cortes, a released convict has been arrested. He later attempted to hang himself in the gaol where he was finally taken after being rescued with difficulty from a mob who tried to lynch him. Another Costa Rican was slightly wounded.
