SCHOOLBOYS WIN FIRST MATCH
SYDNEY, Aug. 25,
The New Zealand schoolboys’ soccer team opened its tour with a match against the Junior Technical and Commercial Schools. Tlie New Zealanders won handsomely by five goals to nil. Tlie New Zealand team outclassed its opponents in wretched conditions, the ground being waterlogged. The joint manager (Mr Wells) stated that the New Zealanders would not have played in similar circumstances in their own country. The players were unable to keep their feet, as a result of a week’s rain. Scorers for New Zealand were the centre-forward. D. Yeoman (four goals) and A. 1 aui (one goal).
