OPPOSITION TO MR HUGHES. LONDON, Aug. 12. . The weight of general opinion private and otherwise seems against the suggestion by the Australian Minister for External Affairs (Mr Hughes) that the Dominions Office is obsolete. Apart altogether from the facts which may be cited by officials in of the existence of the Dominions Office, there is a feeling that the Dominions Office is becoming a more vital part of the Imperial mechanism. On the other hand, there is widespread support for any improved methods of communication.
