SUB-COMMITTEE MEETS. Mr E. G. Matthews presided, last night, at the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North sub-committee of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society. The chairman reported on the last meeting of the AVellington Council. Letters from himself and Mr Andrews dealing with the question of fencing the Awapuni Lagoon had been discussed and it had been resolved that the price of £23 13s 6d, which was submitted for the work by Mr de Cleene, should be adopted. It had been decided to set up a small sub-committee to consider the proposals contained in the letter, which, after consideration, would he presented to the Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. AV. E. Parry). Mr Matthews said the proposals were numerous, and included one ff• increased license fees for trapping oppossums, part of which would he received by the acclimatisation societies.
