NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE.
The following resolutions carried at a meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the New Zealand Alliance have been forwarded to Hon. R. Semple and Mr J. Hodgens, M.P. : That we desire to call attention to the Otago Central Licensing Bill introduced by Mr Bodkin and to ask that you make a most earnest protest against it coming into law on the grounds (a) that whilst pretending to he simply a local matter it would bring into being a system that would make it possible for a licensing committee anywhere to actually issue licenses in districts that were not under their control at all; and (b) that it is against the whole trend of licensing at the present time and especially in regard to motoring.
