DAVIS CUP PROSPECTS.

HENKEL SUMS UP. AUSTRALIANS FAVOURED. BOSTON, Aug. 23. The German tennis player, H. Henkel, after witnessing the day’s play in the national doubles matches, in a Press interview said that Quist and Bromwich would win the doubles title which von Cranim and himself were not defending. He added the belief Australia has a good chance to beat the United States in the Davis Cup challenge round. ' “Bromwich and Quist are the best doubles team in the world. They heat Budge and Mako three times in Australia. They played even better there than against Germany in the Davis Cup matches last- week. The Davis Cup depends on Riggs. 1 have not seen him play, but if Quist and Bromwich .cah both beat him they ought to win the cup by beating Budge and Mako in the doubles. I don’t'think either Quist or Bromwich can beat Budge in the singles.” The German captain (Herr Uhl) is leaving at the end of the week, but ,the others are likely to remain longer. Henkel is planning to visit ifriends here for several weeks. It is even rumoured that he does not iiitond to return to Germany at all.
