ASSURANCE TO CANADIANS. Received August 25, 12.10 p.in. OTTAWA, Aug. 24. The Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King) stated, regarding the wheat preference, that nothing had been given up and nothing had been settled. Many angles had been discussed and many suggestions advanced. He expected the United Kingdom and United States negotiations to be completed early in September. EFFECT ON CANADIAN SALES? Received August 25, 2.5 p.m. QUEBEC, Aug. 24.
