REFUGEE APPLICATIONS. SYDNEY, Aug. 24. The Federal Assistant Minister of tlie Interior (Mr Thompson) states that applications for admission to Australia by German and Austrian Jews are now being received at the rate of 50,000 a year. The proportion of these likely to be admitted is about 5000.
