Received August 25, 10.50 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 24. Messages from Bonneville Salt Elats (Utali) report that Captain G. E. T. Eyston, in liis racing car Thunderbolt, beat his own world’s land speed record of 311.42 miles per hour, but, owing to the failure of the electric timing devices on his second southward run, his speed cannot rank as an official record.

Captain Eyston covered the northward mile at 347.15 miles an hour and made his southward run at 346.8 miles an hour. ,

A New York message states that Captain Eyston unofficially attained a speed of 354 miles an hour'.
