SLAUGHTER OF LAMBS.
Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Aug. 23. Police are investigating the shooting of 45 young lambs, some only two days old, in the Whangara district, on the East Coast, in the past fortnight. A .22 rifle was the weapon used.
